About Our Founder
Dr. Sarah Bonza, founder of Bonza Health, is a board-certified Family Physician, Certified Menopause Practitioner, and a trusted expert in women’s health. She completed her medical training at The Ohio State University College of Medicine during a pivotal time when the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) Study sparked widespread fear around menopause hormone therapy (MHT). Despite the lingering stigma, Dr. Bonza understands that MHT, when used appropriately, can be a powerful tool to alleviate symptoms, improve quality of life, and support long-term health for women
In addition to her expertise in menopause, Dr. Bonza is certified in Functional Medicine, is a Diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach.
Her approach integrates evidence-based medical therapies with lifestyle changes that promote not just symptom relief but lasting health and vitality.
A Personal Message from Dr. Bonza
“When I entered medicine, menopause was barely mentioned, and MHT was dismissed. I followed what I was taught, prescribing antidepressants for mood changes, believing I was helping women. It wasn’t until my mid-40s—when I started experiencing the disruptive symptoms of perimenopause myself—that I realized how much women had been overlooked and underserved.
My personal struggles motivated me to find better solutions—not just for myself but also for the women I care for. Through my practice of lifestyle and functional medicine, I focus on addressing the root causes of the changes that come with aging. By combining menopause hormone therapy (MHT) with sustainable habits like balanced nutrition, regular movement, effective stress management, and targeted supplements, I was able to regain my sense of well-being. This experience gave me the knowledge and confidence to help other women reclaim their health and vitality as well.
