The challenges of perimenopause and menopause should never feel like something you have to shoulder and work through alone.

Oftentimes, due to stigma, women believe that this is a time they have to navigate silently; some women can also feel embarrassed or ashamed of what they’re experiencing.

Hormonal fluctuations and changes to your physical, emotional, and even mental health are all normal parts of the midlife journey and the menopausal transition. But that doesn’t mean you have to do it alone or that you have to give up on finding the right approach and guidance.

At Bonza Health, we help women at any stage during the menopausal transition or postmenopause to alleviate their symptoms and reclaim their health and vitality.

Why Certification Matters in Menopause Treatment

A certified physician who understands the wide range of symptoms related to perimenopause and menopause can provide you with more insights, solutions, and resources to assist you with your midlife journey.

A physician who is certified under recognized organizations that support menopause care, such as Menopause Society and National American Menopause Society, are up-to-date with the latest studies, research, and procedures that can help women during perimenopause or menopause. They are also able to properly and safely assess and administer prescribed hormone therapy options.

You can receive quality, caring, and understanding perimenopause and menopause care for your symptoms!

Traditional medicine may not always address the importance of this time in life for women, which can be discouraging and frustrating when you need assistance and answers for all the changes you’re going through.

With functional and lifestyle medicine and certified menopause care, you have more possibilities, and the opportunity to feel your best (or better!) again.

Meet Dr. Sarah Bonza – Board Certified Expert

The founder of Bonza Health and a board-certified physician in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Sarah Bonza is a Traditional, Functional, and Lifestyle medicine doctor and is a Menopause Society Certified practitioner. She has also experienced her own journey through perimenopause. Here’s her story:

“You would think that a board-certified family physician with over 20 years of experience in the traditional medicine field like myself would know a thing or two about women’s hormonal health. But can you believe me when I say that I was completely unprepared for the hormonal roller coaster I started experiencing in my 40s?

After asking traditional medical doctors what was going on with my health, I was simply told that I was “fine.” Not a thing to worry about. My body was telling me otherwise. The signals were too loud and noticeable to brush aside.

I began to search for solutions, and I found them through the Menopause Society, Wellcoaches, Lifestyle Medicine, and Functional Medicine training. I figured out how to feel reinlivened with FDA approved menopause hormone therapy. I took this energy and poured it into extending my healthspan with supplements, and critical healthy lifestyle modifications.

Because I followed my body’s intuitive nudges and learned to adapt to the changes I was experiencing, I saw significant improvements in my energy, my concentration, performance, strength and even in my weight.

That’s why Bonza Health was created - to help women like you who know their body is changing and want to find practical solutions to help understand and navigate these changes.

At Bonza Health, we aim to always help midlife women experiencing perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms look, feel, and live their best.

Achieving optimal health is absolutely possible (and proven!) when you’re entering this journey. It’s about adapting to these changes and supporting yourself with love and care.

It’s not a time for you to resign or give up what you used to love. You can still thrive in your midlife years and navigate perimenopause or menopause with ease, confidence, and courage.

Personalized Plans for Perimenopause, Menopause, and Beyond

Even though women can experience the same symptoms, the degree of severity, the frequency of those symptoms, and the overall experience can vary greatly among women.

That’s why it’s important for women to recognize that their journey is unique and understand that their experiences compared to other women doesn’t mean something is “off” with them.

Another note to keep in mind: In our current world and in the general world of medicine, physical symptoms of perimenopause and menopause tend to be prioritized or discussed more, but the increase of awareness around emotional and mental health symptoms of menopause is growing.

When your body changes because of hormonal fluctuations, your mental and emotional health can also change. Your changing hormones are also connected to your mood, energy and other aspects of your health, not just physical.
